Description and is it worth a visit
The small temple of Gothami Vihara (Gothami Viharaya) in Colombo was built in the early XX century.and is known for its frescoes placed on the walls inside the perimeter, and depicting scenes from the life of Gautama Buddha. The murals were painted by prominent Sri Lankan artist and poet George Keyt (1901-1993) between 1939 and 1940.
The passage to the frescoes is not always open, but you can ask the servants of the temple to provide access to them. On the adjacent territory there is a pavilion with a statue of Buddha and a stupa. The place will be interesting for lovers of painting, in particular, its religious direction. What is good, tourists rarely come here, and most likely you will be completely alone in this place.
