National Monument or Monument of Independence Monas is a 132–meter-high tower (almost 50 floors) in the center of Independence Square, one of the main symbols of Indonesia. It was built in the period from 1961 to 1968, opened to the public in 1975. From an architectural point of view, it does not represent anything special, except that it will be interesting from an engineering point of view, but you will not be able to miss it, since Independence Square itself is simply mandatory to visit during a visit to the city.

The most interesting thing here for tourists is the observation deck at an altitude of 115 meters, which offers a stunning view of the city. You can see all the skyscrapers of the city, the business center, shopping centers. There are binoculars for observation. The playground is open, without glass.

To get to the top, you need to buy a plastic ticket card at the ticket office and go through it through the turnstile through the tunnel. Through it you will get to the historical Museum of Independence at the base of the tower, and you can not stay here, it is completely uninteresting to tourists. Next, you will need to go up to the base of the monument again, and there you will find a queue for the elevator. Approximately 10 people are allowed to go up by elevator in 10 minutes. To get down from above, you also need to queue for the elevator. On weekends and holidays, the queue here is just huge, you can stand for several hours.
