How to get from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Cambodia

From the Suvarnabhumi Airport there are several ways to get to Cambodia in Siem Reap to see the Ankor Wat temple complex. The easiest way is to immediately fly by plane to Siem Reap Airport, but the price for this one–hour flight is far from budget, although budget airlines, including the well-known AirAsia, fly along the route. For a round-trip flight, you will have to pay more than $ 100, and without luggage. But there are also much more budget ways to go to Cambodia by bus right from the airport. You can do this with a transfer in Bangkok, or with a change of bus at the border. Here are all the ways in more detail:

By plane

You can fly by plane to Siem Reap either directly from Suvarnabhumi or via Don Muang Airport. The latter option is cheaper, since budget airlines fly from there, but first you have to get from the airport to the airport. However, it is easy to do this on a free bus running between airports.

You can use the free shuttle bus to travel between airports if you have a boarding pass or an itinerary receipt (printout of an electronic ticket) for the flight you plan to fly from another airport. The departure of the bus from Don Muang takes place to the right of the airport exit, and there is also a counter where you first need to apply for a free ticket. The bus has a luggage compartment, air conditioning. The journey takes 50 minutes. Timetable:

• 05:00 - 08:00 – every 30 minutes
• 08:12 - 11:00 – every 12 minutes
• 11:30 - 16:00 – every 30 minutes
• 16:12 – 19:00 – every 12 minutes
• 19:30 – 00:00 – every 30 minutes
• The bus does not run at night from 00:00 to 05:00.

By bus from the airport

From the airport bus station Suvarnabhumi Public Transportation Center buses depart during the day to Rong Kluea Market in the city of Aranyaprathet on the border with Cambodia. There is a border crossing there, through which you can take a bus to Siem Reap to the city of Poipet on the other side of the border. The procedure for crossing the border is described in detail here. Buses from the airport bus station depart to 07:30 , 07:40, 09:10, 11:00, 13:10, 17:10, cost 200 baht (6.13 USD), on the way 8-9 hours.

After crossing the border on the Cambodian side from Poipet, you can get to Siem Reap by buses from 8 USD, depart several times a day. By bus through Bangkok

From the Khao San area from the office of the carrier company, buses depart several times a day, and it is better to book them in advance.
