Resort or Decorative lake in Zheleznovodsk is another great area for walking and relaxing in the city in addition to the Resort Park and Cascading Stairs. And although the lake itself has existed for a long time, a comfortable recreation area appeared here only in 2020 after extensive landscaping work. Thanks to this, Zheleznovodsk has received unique opportunities for recreation among all the resorts of the KMV, since only here, in addition to the traditional therapeutic rest, there is also an opportunity to get a beach holiday.
In some guidebooks on the Internet you can find information that swimming in the lake is prohibited. This is not true, in fact, there are special bathing areas, including for children.
The resort lake is now just great! Along the shore there are places to relax with free sun loungers, a playground for children and sports, there are even free toilets. There are also several restaurants and cafes with fast food, a coffee shop, and all this is united by a circular walking path around the lake with a length of just under a kilometer.
The main "highlight" of the lake is a high-color musical fountain, which is located right in the water in its center. In addition, the shores are decorated with several bizarre themed sculptures, and an artificial island with miniature models of the resorts of the KMV has been built on the west side.
In addition to sunbathing, swimming and sports games, here you can take a walk on the water on pedal catamaran boats, take a romantic walk with a photo session on a snow-white boat or rent a Sup-surf. Here are the rental prices in 2023:

🚶 How to get there
the lake is located in the resort area of Zheleznovodsk at the bottom of the Cascade Staircase, i.e. it actually ends at the square near the lake (resort lake on the map). You can walk here on foot up the stairs or along one of the trails in the shade of trees, you can walk from anywhere in the resort area in 15-30 minutes. Also now an asphalt road leads to the lake along Maria Barsukova Street. By car, you can drive along this street almost to the lake beach itself, and park the car for free in the shade of trees along the street, there are always free places. If it so happens that you will not be able to find a suitable free parking space there, then you can park your car in a new spacious parking lot on the same street 700 meters from the lake, and walk from there.
