The history of the Colonnade dates back more than a century. Its opening took place in 1912 and was timed to coincide with the centenary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. It was built in the neoclassical style by the architect Nikolai Nikolaevich Semenov, who after his death in 1996 became an "Honorary citizen of the resort town of Kislovodsk". Galleries and coffee shops were located on the ground floor, and a summer restaurant was planned to open on the second floor. But in the process of working on the idea of a restaurant had to be abandoned. In 1946, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out, which gave the colonnade its current appearance, which has survived to this day almost unchanged, except that a modern light and music fountain has just appeared.
