One of the architectural monuments of the late XIX – early XX centuries in Simeiz, along with Villa Dream is the villa "Xenia". The building is located in the center of the village at the beginning of Cypress Alley, and made in Art Nouveau style with Gothic elements. The author of this project was the famous architect N.P. Krasnov.
Villa Xenia belonged to the noble family Chuikevich. Varvara Andreevna Chuykevich built it in 1906 for the family of her illegitimate daughter Maria Solovova, who had her first child, daughter Ksenia, in the same year. In honor of the granddaughter, the villa was named. 3 years later, in 1909, the Solovov family moved to Moscow, and the house began to be used as a boarding house for resort vacationers. There were 28 residential rooms and utility rooms. During the years of Soviet power, the building was nationalized, at different times there was a hotel, communal apartments, part of the sanatorium "The Red Lighthouse".
Today the villa building is abandoned and is being destroyed. It will not be possible to get inside and into the territory due to the emergency condition. You can see it only from the outside. However, according to some reports, within the framework of the project of restoration of cultural objects, the reconstruction of the building is underway, and even new windows and a roof have been installed, but the work is carried out sluggishly and imperceptibly.
