Tourist information about Kurortnoye village in Crimea

Article and Section Navigation

Kurortnoye is a village in the northern part of the Kerch Peninsula near Cape Zyuk and Marine Bay, which is part of the Sea of Azov (on the map). This village should not be confused with the resort village of the same name in the city district of Feodosia. The population of this village is just over two hundred people. The nearest large settlement is the city of Kerch, located to the south, at a distance of 15 kilometers.

The village of Kurortnoye until 1948 had a very interesting name-Russian mother (in the first word the emphasis on the second syllable). Nearby was originally located another settlement - Mama Tatarskaya.

People come here for a quiet beach holiday on the shore of the Sea of Azov, warmer than the Black Sea (see what to choose for a holiday in the Crimea, the Black Sea or the Sea of Azov). The atmosphere here is rustic, there is nothing but a few boarding houses and mini-hotels, so staying here will not suit everyone. Of course, the Sea of Azov has its advantages over the Black Sea: it is warmer and safer for children. But still, before you decide to go to the resort, read more information about this place, otherwise you can completely spoil your vacation if the resort meets you with unreasonable expectations.

But there is a separate category of tourists who Year after year seek to get here. Long sandy shores in the vicinity of the village, secluded cozy coves, shallow depth and warm sea make this place popular with lovers of rest in tents. Near Cape Bogatube, in a place called "Novy Svet", 3 kilometers along the coast from the village, a whole tent camp of hippies and nudists grows in the summer, although it is not suitable for a family holiday.

Immediately I want to note several shortcomings of this resort village:

  • Poor quality roads, no asphalt, even to the village. In the rain, they turn almost into an insurmountable obstacle, unless you use a good SUV for movement.
  • All fresh water is imported, it is used only for drinking. For washing and water procedures-local, brackish.
  • Many snakes, some of which can be easily found in seawater.
  • An abundance of a variety of insects, meeting with some of which is not desirable. For example, with tarantulas or centipedes.
  • There is no medical care – you will have to go to Kerch or another locality for help.
  • There is no embankment.
  • Around the steppe, very little greenery.

The advantages of recreation in the resort are as follows:

  • A huge selection of options for accommodation. Almost every resident of the village offers his home for vacationers. Also in the village there are many recreation centers, mini-hotels, boarding houses.
  • A great place for lovers of sea fishing. Here in large numbers there are steers, flounder, walleye, mullet.
  • The sea is shallow and warm near the shore. An adult, in order to reach the depth of his growth, will have to move away from the shore by about a hundred meters. That is, it is as comfortable as possible for bathing children.
  • Cape Zyuk divides the village into two parts. With the wind, you can always move to another part of it and continue your vacation on the beach in more favorable conditions for yourself.
  • Many small cafes do not much care about where to eat. There are shops, a market.

When searching for hotels in Crimea on Booking.com you will most likely receive a message- "no options found". This is a limitation booking.com because of the sanctions. But to get around it and book accommodation in the Crimea is very simple, you just need to turn on the "traveling for work" tick. Of the man-made attractions of the village, the following can be noted::

  • The Old Believers ' Church, built here by the first settlers in 1913.
  • Excavations of an ancient settlement on Cape Zyuk, known as Zenonov Chersonesos.

Not very much, but this is a small village, so you should not expect a large number of such attractions. On the other hand, most people are looking for something completely different here – a warm sea and the opportunity to relax in the unique natural conditions of this place. And you can admire the monuments and interesting structures by going on an excursion to nearby Kerch or to the South Sea.

But with a beach holiday here everything is in order: the length of the sandy beaches is about four kilometers. The most interesting are called "generals". These are cozy, secluded areas of sandy beaches on the Sea coast, surrounded by pristine nature, beautiful rocks and huge boulders of unusual shape. That is, this is a very good place for a wild holiday with your tent. In the summer there are really a lot of tent cities. In some of them, even some minimum conditions are organized. For example, toilets and garbage collection sites are installed, which are cleaned once a day, the beaches are cleaned of pollution. Nevertheless, there is always a lot of space to really be alone with yourself and the surrounding nature.

By the way, the "General" beaches got their name due to the fact that a military training ground functioned in this place for a long time. Naturally, access to the sea for ordinary people was limited, and only the top military leadership and their guests rested in cozy and very beautiful secluded coves. In total, there are about thirty bays, each of which has its own name. This is an ideal place for romantic, secluded holidays and lovers of spectacular photos.

Also at a distance of only a hundred meters from the Sea coast and just west of the village is Chokrak Lake, to which many people come to assess the level of healing of its mud.

How to get to the village of Kurortnoye

The village of Kurortnoye, although located only 15 kilometers from the large city of Kerch and the bridge, is actually quite inaccessible. Normal paved roads do not even lead here, but only a dirt road.

It is most convenient to get here by taxi, but the trip will cost a lot. For example, from Simferopol airport here go 240 kilometers, in time about 4 hours, and the cost of the trip will cost 5T. P. check prices and book a trip by car can be through the search form:

But if you do part of the way from the airport on local transport, you can save a lot. So, you can get to Feodosia (direct bus about every hour and a half, from 300 rubles, 3 hours on the way), or to Kerch (direct bus 3-4 times a day, from 500 rubles, 5 hours on the way), and then transfer to a taxi. You can get even cheaper if you get to Kerch and there transfer to a suburban bus to the village, which depart every 30-60 minutes, 20 minutes on the way.
