Mithridates is the highest point of the old town of Feodosia, it rises 55 meters above sea level. In the distant past, part of the defensive fortifications of the Genoese fortress was located here (Thomas Tower), but today only ruins remain of it. This tower, or rather the little that remains of it, you can see on the southern slope of the mountain. But the main thing here is not the tower, but the views, because here is one of the most successful viewing platforms for the old district of Feodosia.
During Aivazovsky's lifetime, he built a museum of antiquities on top of it at his own expense, but it was completely destroyed during the war. The plans of the city authorities mention the restoration of the museum, although it is not known when it will be. Now you can visit the Museum of antiquities in the center of Feodosia on Aivazovsky Avenue, 11.

🚶 How to get there
Mount Mithridates and the observation deck are located on the outskirts of Feodosia in the old district (tower on the map). You can get here from the center on foot, for example, while walking to the Genoese fortress and other historical sites in the old part of the city. For reference, from the center from Galeriynaya Street to the mountain is a little less than two kilometers. If it's too far for you, then you can take city bus number2 to the stop "Timiryazeva Street" or 1, 1a, 1b, 2a, 14 or 15 to the stop "Morsad", and from there on foot 10 minutes. If you are in your car, then you can easily drive directly to the observation deck, there is a free parking area. True, you will have to drive a little on the dirt road, but in bad weather it is better not to go, but leave the car below and walk.
There is also an easier and more interesting way to get here – it's to buy a sightseeing tour of the city on electric vehicles. These electric vehicles depart from Galeriynaya Street in the place where it rests on the embankment. The cost of the excursion starts from 1000 rubles / person.
