Balaclava is one of the districts of Sevastopol, and therefore you can get from the city center by public transport or taxi. Depending on the chosen method, the trip will take from 30 minutes to two hours, and will cost from 26 to 400 rubles. We will tell you in detail about all the ways:
By taxi
- 💳 Cost: from 400 rubles
- 🕑 Time spent: 30-60 minutes
- 🎫 Working period: around the clock
Depending on the traffic on the road, a taxi from the center of Sevastopol will take you to the center of Balaklava in 30-60 minutes. The trip will cost from 400 rubles and up to 800 rubles, depending on the time of day, and, again, the state of traffic on the road.
Unfortunately, the well-known aggregators of Yandex.Taxi, Uber and other applications in the Crimea do not work, and therefore the car in Sevastopol will have to be caught on the street or ordered by phone. At the same time, paradoxically, but private traders and taxi drivers on the streets are asking for a trip more expensive than an official branded taxi, so you need to bargain with drivers. And it's even easier to immediately order a car from well-known taxi companies in Sevastopol:
- Taxi Maxim - tel. +7 (978) 707-77-77
- Sevtaxi - tel. +7 (978) 555-5555
- Ap taxi - tel. +7(978) 7000-401
- Metro Taxi - tel. +7(8692) 55-7777
- Pickup Taxi - tel. +7(8692) 777-000
- First taxi - tel. +7 (978) 333-33-33
- Flagman Taxi - tel. +7(978) 832-64-65
- SOYUZ-TAXI - tel. +7(978) 700-05-45
By the way, some of these carriers have their own websites and ordering applications, and if you are in the city on vacation for a long time, we advise you to download and install them. Only they will have to be downloaded from the taxi company's website, since such applications are blocked in the official GooglePlay and AppStore stores due to sanctions.
By bus or trolleybus
- 💳 Cost: from 26 rubles
- 🕑 Time spent: 1-2 hours
- 🎫 Working period: only during the day
Of course, it is less convenient to travel by public transport, but it is much cheaper, starting from 26 rubles. You should not be afraid of traveling by bus or trolleybus: the transport here is mostly updated and direct flights have appeared, everything is organized well, goes often. Travel can be paid in cash, and some routes accept contactless bank cards. There are also city transport cards that give a discount on travel, but it doesn't make much sense for tourists to purchase and master them for the sake of several trips.
Some bus and trolleybus routes in Sevastopol are now equipped with GPS, so you can even watch them on Yandex.maps and plan your trip correctly. By the way, we generally recommend using Yandex.maps to plan a trip on Sevastopol city transport, because there are also routes with transfers. And here's a little more about the individual routes to Balaklava:
- Bus number 94. This is an ideal option to get to Balaklava from the center of Sevastopol, as it passes through the very center along Lenin Street and near Nakhimov Square. Walks every 10-20 minutes. Bus route No. 94 on the map.
- Bus number 33. Another route to travel from the center, it goes from the railway station and through the bus station. He walks about every 30-60 minutes according to the schedule, but he adheres to the schedule poorly. Bus route No. 33 on the map.
- Bus number34. It does not come from the center, but from the Gagarin district from the water park, and therefore is not very suitable for tourists. Bus route #34 on the map.
- Bus number 35. Again, it does not come from the center, but from the Cossack Bay. Bus route #35 on the map.
- Bus number126. It comes from the Inkerman district, and therefore is not very interesting for tourists. Bus route No.126 on the map.
- With transfers. If none of the direct bus options suits you, then you can go with a transfer, which will not be difficult. The most convenient transfer point is the stop "5th km of Balaklava highway" at Seamall shopping center (stop on the map). It is reached by a large number of buses and trolleybuses from different districts of Sevastopol, and there you can transfer to the buses listed above directly to Balaklava.
It is best to go on all the listed routes in Balaklava to the final stop "May 1 Square" (stop on the map). This is actually the tourist center of Balaklava, from where a couple of minutes walk to the marina with pleasure boats. If you need to get to the submarine museum, it is better to get off at the previous stop "Obolon" or "Kalich Street", and from there to the museum on foot 10-15 minutes.
