Novorossiysk is located on the Black Sea coast in Tsemesskaya Bay, which is well protected from waves and winds. And, it would seem, it's great to relax on the beaches. However, Novorossiysk is rarely considered by vacationers and tourists as a full-fledged Beach Resort. The thing is that here is the worst environmental situation on the Black Sea coast. The reason for this is a large number of industrial enterprises, especially those producing cement, as well as a large seaport. At the same time, the Seaport is located in the very center of the city in the depths of the Tsemesskaya Bay, and accepts huge vessels, mainly cargo. Nevertheless, there are beaches in Novorossiysk, and even in the very center of the city. And if you do not have a special "point" about the purity of the water and the surrounding air, then it may well come down as a beach resort for a short summer vacation.
All beaches in Novorossiysk are pebbly and rocky, there is no sand in sight. Pebbles are mostly large, but on the most popular beaches of Central, Neptune, Aleksino and Myshako in some seasons bring fine sand. The rest of the beaches with large pebbles and even sharp stones. In general, whatever beach you choose to relax, in order to relax comfortably, it is better to buy swimming shoes.
The depth here is almost everywhere large: it starts immediately from the water's edge, and a few meters away is already on the shoulders of an adult. Therefore, when relaxing with children, be careful. On city beaches, lifeguards monitor safety.
Entertainment on the beaches of Novorossiysk is not very much, but there are traditional banana rides, jet ski and catamaran rentals, sup surfboard rentals. Central City Beach of Novorossiysk
This beach is located in the heart of the city just a few minutes walk from Forum Square and other attractions and iconic places of the city (Central Beach on the map).
It is the most developed and equipped among Novorossiysk beaches. Along it stretches a modern equipped embankment, on which are located the rental of tourist transport, the sale of excursions, cafes and fast food, supermarkets and shops. Directly on the shore for the convenience of vacationers there are canopies and sun loungers are offered for rent for only 200 rubles per day. You can wash off sea water after bathing in modern automatic showers for 10 rubles. At the same time, despite the central position, it can not be called crowded even at the height of the season.
Cape love Beach
This is a wild undeveloped beach within the central part of the city (Cape love Beach on the map). It will be of little interest to vacationers and tourists, but it can not be mentioned. The coast here is very rocky, there is nothing from the infrastructure at all, but for some reason there are those who want to sunbathe and even swim here.
Wild beach in the center
After Cape Lyubov, another wild beach stretches along the shore without a name (wild beach on the map). There is nothing from the infrastructure, and even the section of the Admiral Serebryakov Embankment along this beach is deserted. On the shore there are small and large pebbles and large stones, while here there are lovers of rest.
Neptune Beach
This beach is a little away from the center, but it is not the outskirts of the city ( "Neptune" on the map). From the center here you can easily reach on foot along the embankment of Admiral Serebryakov.
Like everywhere else, there are pebbles on the shore, there are also sharp stones. There are no active water activities, only inflatable trampolines and slides for children. Of the amenities there are sun loungers for rent, changing rooms, a cafe and fast food for sale. In general, this is such a strong Beach-average, which is not distinguished by beauty and comfort, but there are few vacationers.
Beaches "at the pier" and "Rybzavod"
These two beaches are located next to each other and almost on the outskirts of the city behind "Neptune" ("At the pier" and "Rybzavod" on the map). They can also be reached on foot along the very long Admiral Serebryakov Embankment, or take buses No. 15A directly to the stop near the embankment, or almost any other city route to the stop on Lenin Avenue and walk a little.
These are relatively new equipped beaches, before they were completely wild. Only recently, small pebbles were brought here, infrastructure and facilities appeared almost as good as on the neighboring city Beach "Neptune", while there are noticeably fewer vacationers here. True, the depth here is very steep, so for bathing small children they are not very suitable.
Beaches on the Sudzhuk spit
Much more interesting than the city beaches of Novorossiysk is the coast on the Sudzhuk spit, which is located almost 5 kilometers from the center (Beach on Sudjuk spit on the map). Most guests of the city and locals try to go for a beach holiday on the spit, and therefore there are even more vacationers here than in the center. You can get here by buses No. 1, 7A, 8, 19, 21, 41m or trolleybuses No. 14, 7. in most cases, you will have to walk a little more to the beach, and the only route that will take you directly to the Spit is minibus No. 19.
The total length of the beach line on the Sudzhuk spit is almost 2 kilometers. There are equipped areas, and completely wild. The most equipped places are located on the edges of the spit at the entrance to it, and the middle and tip of Cape sujuk are almost wild. Especially popular is the southern side of the Cape, which has its own name Alexino Beach (Alexino on the map). It is believed that "Aleksino" has the cleanest water in the city, a lot of entertainment and good service. On the shore there are sun beds and umbrellas for rent, water activities, cafes.
Myshako Beach
Myshako is a village on the outskirts of Novorossiysk, 10 kilometers from the center and outside the tsemesskaya Bay (Myshako on the map). In fact, this is already an independent resort, but the main beach of Myshako is usually considered as one of the distant urban ones. Its main advantage is the remoteness from the polluted port and the water area of the Bay, i.e. this place is considered more or less environmentally friendly, unlike urban beaches.
On the shore there are small pebbles, and even coarse sand is found. The beach is small, only 200 meters, but there is enough space even in the season. The village itself is quiet and calm, and much more environmentally friendly than Novorossiysk. Conveniently, Myshako is easily accessible from the center by city buses Nos. 31, 32 and 22.
Hotels and accommodation where to stay
Since Novorossiysk is rarely considered by vacationers and tourists as a place to stop for the entire period of their rest, it is more often visited in the form of a one-day excursion from neighboring resorts. Nevertheless, the city has enough hotels and budget accommodation options in private guest houses and rental housing, rented for a short time. "Star" hotels here are few. In fact, there is only one "four-star" hotel, and several equated to "three-star". Prices for accommodation in Novorossiysk are lower than in neighboring beach resorts, but you should not expect very low prices.
If you plan to stay in the city for a couple of nights with sightseeing purposes, it is best to choose accommodation in the central part of the city near the Forum Square and the embankment. In this case, almost the entire city will be at your disposal for hiking. However, we do not advise you to settle in the industrial zone and behind the railway: it's too far away, and we don't live very comfortably.
