What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
The Cathedral of the Epiphany of the Lord is located right on pedestrian Bauman Street, but most tourists are familiar only with the Epiphany Bell Tower made of red brick, which is one of the most recognizable symbols of Kazan. The cathedral itself is located behind the bell tower, and rarely attracts the attention of tourists, since most believe that the bell tower is the whole cathedral.
Since 2016, access to the bell tower to the observation deck has been open. This is the only place from where you can see the historical part of the city from a bird's-eye view. Entrance to the observation deck is paid, money is collected for the purchase of bells.
