What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
This is not a traditional zoo, but an aviary complex maintained by the administration Teberdinsky reserve. It differs from the usual zoo in that the animals are not kept in cages, but in spacious enclosures. Here are animals that live or once lived on the territory of the Reserve: deer, hares, ducks, geese, Wild Boars, raccoons, goats, bison, Foxes, vultures, wolves, bears, jackals, tours, Lynx (very old), Caucasian tours, forest cat, raccoon dog, etc., including Red Book. The variety is not very large, but the conditions of their maintenance are satisfactory, which is why this place will appeal to almost everyone, especially children. Some animals can be fed and even petted. Food for feeding is sold here for 50 rubles per package, but you can bring cabbage, carrots, or other vegetables. But perhaps the biggest drawback in this place is the lack of lighting in some enclosures, which is why it is very difficult to see something in the evening or in cloudy weather.
Also on the territory in a small building is a museum, which is visited together with the zoo on one ticket. The museum displays several stuffed animals and birds with signatures, a stand with minerals, but almost no information.
