In the building of Dagestan State University there is a Zoological Museum, which will certainly appeal to both adults and children. There are many stuffed animals and birds, fish and reptiles collected here.
The museum was founded in 1966. Thanks to the efforts and efforts of the museum staff, today the exposition has more than 600 exhibits of animals and birds and about 10 thousand specimens of insects.
The exhibits are placed in 2 halls in a certain sequence. All the diversity of the animal world of the Republic of Dagestan is represented, but there are also samples brought from Brazil, Azerbaijan, Belarus. A large collection of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, corals, shells of mollusks, crustaceans, insects, various fish. There are even samples of rocks and minerals, fossils.
