The National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan named after A. Takho-Godi has a long history and is located in a beautiful blue and white building with atlanteans. Opened in 1925, it survived the war and other difficult historical periods.
In general, the National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan is one of the largest museums in the North Caucasus, consists of several branches and branches located in different parts of Dagestan. Special attention is paid to the period of the Caucasian War of 1817-1864 and its leader Imam Shamil.

The museum is located in the historical district of the city near the beach and the port on Daniyalova str., 31 (National Museum of Dagestan on the map). Do not confuse the entrances to museums, because the National Museum and "Dagestan aul" are located in the same building here, but the entrances to them are different. You can get there on a large number of city bus routes, trolleybuses and minibuses along the main street Rasul Gamzatov Avenue to the Gorky Street stop, and then 5 minutes on foot.
