The Makhachkala History Museum is a small city museum that tells about the history of the city of Makhachkala. It is located in the pyramidal structure of the memorial complex dedicated to the Russian intelligentsia, known as the "Monument to the Teacher".
The entire exposition is located in one hall. Among the exhibited exhibits are objects of archeology, paintings by local artists, objects of decorative and applied art, photographs. Temporary exhibitions are also held periodically in the museum.
Despite the fact that there are few exhibits presented here, free educational excursions are held for visitors, which make up for this shortcoming.
