Tsolotlinsky canyon or Tsolotl is one of the largest and most beautiful natural attractions of the Khunzakhsky district in Dagestan. The canyon is not very long, but it reaches a depth of more than 600 meters. Two waterfalls fall from its steep cliffs from a great height Tobot and itlyatlyar, which form the Tobot River flowing along the bottom of the canyon. Tsolotlinsky canyon starts from the villages Hunzakh and Arani, 189 kilometers from Derbent and 151 from Makhachkala (canyon on the map). You can get to the village of Khunzakh on a good asphalt road, and then a little along the dirt road by car or on foot to one of the viewing points on the canyon and waterfalls.
There are several viewing platforms on both sides of the canyon, but you can explore it anywhere throughout. At the same time, you should be careful, since there are almost no fences along the edge of the canyon, and the cliffs here are very steep and high.
