What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Krasnoe Lake or Khadzhokhsky quarry is a picturesque reservoir of artificial origin, formed at the bottom of an old limestone quarry. It is easy to find it — it is located on the outskirts of the village of Kamennomostsky, on the way to Meshoko Gorge. Theoretically, it is impossible to swim here, since there are signs prohibiting travel and passage to it. But in fact, they calmly drive here (but not to the lake itself, but only to the barrier) and pass, swim and have picnics on the shore.

By the way, the lake is not red at all. On the contrary, it is distinguished by deep blue or blue colors, especially if you look at it from above during sunny weather. We don't know exactly why it has a completely different name, but they say that at certain times of the day it turns pink.

For tourists, Red Lake is interesting as a place where you can swim in warm water, because it warms up much better here than in mountain rivers, and also as a place with beautiful views, especially in the roads from above.
