Description and is it worth visiting
These hot springs are located far from Sapa, in Ban Ho village, where three-day trekking tours through the Muong Hoa Valley usually end with an overnight stay. If you also find yourself in this village during trekking or passing through, you can visit these springs; otherwise, don't even think about coming here from Sapa just for them.
The thing is, these are not springs with healing hot water from the earth's depths, but simply a pool in a private house of one of the local residents who, for a symbolic fee, lets anyone who wants to swim here. The homeowner says the water comes from a natural deep well and has healing properties, but in fact, this cannot be verified, and considering that it's only slightly warm, doubt creeps in. Of course, there are no amenities.
That's why we don't recommend coming here specially from the city; they're not worth it. However, you can swim in them in the evening after a long hike before going to sleep in Ban Ho. Moreover, there's a river nearby where you can take a dip in cold water and then plunge into warm water again.
🕐 Opening Hours
During daylight hours.
💵 Entrance Fee / Ticket Price
40,000 VND (1.52 USD, see all about Vietnamese money and exchange rates). You also need to pay for entry to Muong Hoa Valley - 80,000 VND (usually this amount is already included in the cost of the trekking tour).
🚶 How to Get There
The hot springs are located in Ban Ho village, 24 kilometers from Sapa (springs on the map). Tourists usually get to Ban Ho during trekking through Muong Hoa Valley, but you can also get there by rented transport or taxi. The village is small, and it's easy to find the springs themselves: just head towards the straw beach umbrellas set up on the riverbank near a private house; that's the springs. Or you can use our map, where the location of the springs is indicated accurately. You can drive right up to them.
