Description and is it worth a visit
Peranakan mansion is a house museum, formerly owned by an influential family of immigrants from China, an example of architecture of the 19th century. Peranakan (Peranakan) – so called descendants of Chinese immigrants who moved to Malaysia, hence the name of the mansion. But do not think that this is a boring House-Museum, where you can only see the situation from the interesting. In fact, this is a full-fledged museum with a large collection of historical objects of the 19th century, more than 1000 exhibits in total. Among them are pieces of furniture, clothing, jewelry, photographs, etc. The furniture and decoration of the house is very rich, because the owners of the house belonged to the upper class of society. This area is one of the most visited Penang. When a large enough group of tourists gathers, a free and very exciting excursion in English is held. Unfortunately, photo and video shooting inside is prohibited.
