Langkawi Craft Complex (Kompleks Kraf Langkawi) – it's not a museum in the strict sense, but definitely worth a visit. Here you'll find a gallery, exhibition halls, and a souvenir shop all in one place. The complex is housed in a large, beautiful building in the north of the island, away from the main resort areas.

The complex is quite large and consists of several pavilions. Don't just stop at the entrance – go further back from the parking lot to see everything. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, it's interesting just to walk around, look at the items, and watch the artisans at work.

Objectively, the free museum exhibition here is quite modest and not very informative, occupying only one hall out of 11. But the other halls, showcasing products by local artisans, are interesting. There's a garment workshop, including traditional wedding attire, batik (patterned fabric), musical instruments, jewelry and accessories, pottery – the range of products and souvenirs is huge, and most are unique. Everything is handmade. Prices here are higher than at the markets in the tourist area, but there's an opinion that everything sold in markets is made in China. The quality of items in the craft complex, in our view, is genuinely better.

We especially recommend checking out the purchases and workshops. In some halls, you can see the production process firsthand and even participate in workshops (from 25 ringgit). If you have time, definitely try one of the workshops and take home a souvenir made with your own hands – it'll be a great memory of your trip. There are workshops for batik making, souvenir magnets, cups, coconut jewelry, wood and glass figurines, and more.

Behind the main complex, there are two smaller workshops: a glassblowing studio and a wood carving workshop. There you can also buy something or create your own unique souvenir. You can visit the craft complex on your own – no tour needed. Plan to spend a couple of hours here. There's free parking and a cafe for visitors.
