Tegal Wangi Beach (Tegal Wangi Beach) is also called a secret beach, although in fact there is no secret in it anymore, everyone knows about it.
It is located in the south of Bali on the Bukit Peninsula, and officially belongs to the Jimbaran district (Tegal Wangi on the map). At the same time, it is located quite far from the tourist center of this area and generally relatively far from the whole civilization, so it can be called secluded. There are always a minimum of vacationers here, except that rare tourists come here, seekers of wild distant beaches. There is no infrastructure on the beach or nearby.
Tegal Vanga is not very large and by no means spacious, its length is at most 100 meters. Moreover, it is also narrow, so at high tide there is not even a place on the sandy shore, you will have to rest on the rocks. But the beauty of it is that it is deserted and it is not visible from the side, because it is under a cliff surrounded by rocks. So if you want to retire or sunbathe topless – this is the right beach for that. There are no trees on the beach, but you can hide from the sun in two rock grottoes.
But as for bathing, you need to be more careful here: there is a sign installed here that it is forbidden to swim. And this is really true, because there are very sharp rocks under the water and on the shore.
How to get to Tegal Wangi (Tegal Wangi Beach)
Tegal Vangi is located on the western shore of the Bukit Peninsula (Tegal Wangi on the map). This is almost the most extreme south of the island of Bali and a very quiet remote area.
If you are staying for a holiday in the area of Jimbaran, to which this beach belongs, then theoretically you can walk to it, but you will have to go far, from 2 to 8 kilometers, depending on the place where you stay.
From other areas you will have to go here by taxi or rented transport, there is no other way to get there. According to the navigator, there are several roads leading to the beach, but you need to go to the final parking point at the Pura Segara Tegalwangi temple, it is located on the north side of this beach (this is on the top of the map or on the right if you look at the sea). Google maps can lead you to the Secret Beach point on the other side of the beach, but you will not be able to go down to the shore there because of the steep cliff. Therefore, set the Pura Segara Tegalwangi temple in Yandex.Navigator right away, and you will get where you need to go. From the parking lot near the temple you will need to go down to the beach along the trail.
Hotels and accommodation near Tegal Vang Beach, where to stay
Relatively close to Tegal Vanga, just a few hundred meters away, there are several chic and very expensive hotels, all 4 or 5 stars. But not far away they are located only in a straight line, just near the point that is marked on Google maps as secret beach, and from where there is no way to get to this beach. You will have to take a detour, then it turns out 3-4 kilometers to the temple (see how above), and from there you can still walk down to the shore. So there is no point in considering Tegal Vangi as an option for a holiday at the nearest hotel.
