The beach and the Nusa Dua area (Nusa Dua) is located in the south of Bali on the eastern shore of the Bukit Peninsula (Nusa Dua on the map). This is not just a beach, but a whole area and a separate resort, moreover, special by the standards of Bali. This is a fashionable area and a kind of tourist reservation for vacationers. There is a checkpoint at the entrances and entrances to Nusa Dua, where vehicles and those entering are checked, and even a fare is charged. A special security regime is observed on the territory of the resort, extra people and local residents are not allowed to come here unnecessarily.
The Nusa Dua area is not very large, it occupies about 4-5 square kilometers. If you rest here, then in principle you can do without transport, but for the comfort of vacationers, hotels organize free shuttle busses to the beaches and to the main outlet of the Bali Collection shopping center. If you decide to rent a motorcycle during your vacation here, you will probably have to do it in other areas. The territory of the resort is well-groomed and, compared to the rest of Bali, it can even be said to be beautiful. The infrastructure and structure here are completely different: wide roads, flower beds and flowers, a lot of space between hotels. And there are no street shops and markets, exchangers and rentals at every turn. Of course, if you want, you can find everything, but it will be more expensive than in the usual areas of the island.
The atmosphere here is also completely different, after all, this is a fashionable area. There is no fuss and noise, young people walking, pestering on the beaches. But there is no nightlife, and you will not recognize the real Bali here, except for a little look at it during excursions.
What are the beaches in Nusa Dua
The coast in Nusa Dua is mostly divided between hotels, access to the beaches is difficult. You can get in either through the territory of the hotels or along the shore from a public beach.
There is also a public beach here. Well, like a beach... Rather a place to go to the water, and so to swim here, well, it's unlikely, see the photo. And in general, even on hotel beaches, you can swim only at high tide. At low tide, the water goes far away, but it will not be possible to reach the depth due to rocks and reefs. Therefore, be sure to stay here in a hotel with a swimming pool or follow the schedule of tides:
Important! There is a misconception that the tides depend on the time of day. In fact, this is not the case, and it is never possible to say unequivocally, for example, that there are tides in a particular resort in the morning and ebbs in the evenings. To determine the level of tides on the Nusa Dua beach, special calculation algorithms based on statistical data are used.
But it is worth noting that if you exclude unsuitability for swimming at low tide, then the hotel beaches here are wonderful. They are constantly cleaned, sand is sifted, and we have seen how it was even "loosened", apparently to make it more pleasant for walking. What to see in Nusa Dua, attractions and entertainment
There are a couple of interesting places in Nusa Dua that will be interesting to visit:
- The Pasifika Museum is a large museum with a collection of works of art of the peoples of the Pacific Ocean.
- Waterblow Geyser – rocks on the shore, formed in such a way that at some point a fountain of water is thrown up from the waves, as if from a geyser.
There is no entertainment in the Nusa Dua area, even on the beaches. But very close by, a 5-minute drive to the beach Tanjung Benoa is the largest concentration of water entertainment on the water in the whole of Bali.

How to get to Nusa Dua
The beach and the Nusa Dua area (Nusa Dua) is located in the south of Bali on the eastern shore of the Bukit Peninsula (Nusa-Dua on the map). It is 15-20 kilometers from the airport and the center of Kuta. You can get from 120,000 rupees by taxi through the application (0.66 USD) and from 50,000 for a motorcycle taxi.
You can use your own (rented) transport to get here by toll or free road. The paid version is faster, but the problem is that you need to buy a special electronic card for payment. If this is a one-time trip along the "headscarf" for you, then there is no point in buying it, you can drive along the free route, although it's a bit of a detour and through traffic jams.
Hotels and accommodation in Nusa Dua, where to stay
Although Nusa Dua is considered, and in fact is, an expensive fashionable area, this does not mean that it is impossible to find inexpensive accommodation here. If you book in advance, it is quite possible to find comfortable rooms for two from $ 20. However, it will be a hotel a few hundred or a kilometer from the beach. Basically, a day in a hotel on the first line here costs from $ 200.
Let us remind you once again that if you choose a hotel for a beach holiday here, you need to take into account the time of tides (the schedule of tides is higher), because it is impossible to swim at low tide. And even better, the hotel has a swimming pool.
