💡 Tip: In high season (July–August, New Year's holidays), tickets for trains to Kislovodsk sell out 2–3 weeks in advance. Book early, especially if you want a compartment or first class.

How to get from the train station to your hotel

Kislovodsk train station is right in the city center. Most hotels, guesthouses, and sanatoriums are a 10–20 minute walk away.

  • 🚶 On foot — 5–7 minutes to Kurortny Boulevard, 10–12 minutes to the Colonnade, 15 minutes to the Narzan Gallery.
  • 🚌 Taxi — from 80 RUB within the city via app (Yandex Go).
  • 🚌 City bus — stop right by the station. Route numbers: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, 22, 23, 24, 103. Fare — 35 RUB. But if you don't know the exact stop near your hotel, just grab a taxi.

Personal tip: If you have a light backpack and your hotel is near Kurortny Boulevard — walk. If you have suitcases or your hotel is farther away (like on Lenina St. or in the Sanatornaya area) — take a taxi, it's not expensive.

Useful tips (personal experience)

  • 🚇 Buy your tickets early. Tickets go on sale 90 days in advance — the cheapest ones sell out in the first few days. This is especially true for summer, New Year's holidays, and school breaks.
  • 📅 Check your arrival time. If your train gets into Kislovodsk late at night (after 10 PM), check with your hotel to see if the front desk is open 24/7.
  • 🚌 From Mineralnye Vody to Kislovodsk, take the local train instead of a taxi. The train drops you right in the center and costs 335 RUB vs 1500 RUB for a taxi. The comfort difference is minimal.
  • 💡 Kislovodsk station has a luggage storage room. If you arrive early and check-in isn't until 2:00 PM, you can leave your bags and go explore the city.
  • 🚗 If you're heading to the mountains (Arkhyz, Dombay), taking a train to Mineralnye Vody + renting a car is a great alternative to flying.
