Overview and Is It Worth Visiting
The Valley of Roses is part of the Kislovodsk National Park, but this attraction is so popular that it deserves a separate mention. Absolutely all tourists and vacationers at the resort visit it, but of course, only during the summer blooming season.
The Valley of Roses is a beautiful flower park covering an area of 2 hectares. Here, on flowerbeds between pedestrian paths, over 30 varieties of roses bloom annually, along with other flowers and plants, including some exotic for northern latitudes. You can walk along the paths between the flowerbeds as much as you like, take photos with the flowers, but you cannot pick or damage them. Around the perimeter of the valley, there are benches for resting and a gazebo offering a view of the entire beauty. An even better view opens from above via the cable car, whose station is located nearby.
When the Valley of Roses in Kislovodsk Blooms (Main Info for Tourists)
In a nutshell: mass blooming lasts from mid-June to the end of August. The peak is July and the first half of August. Outside this period, you'll see a well-maintained park with green flowerbeds, but not that "postcard-perfect" picture.
Rose Blooming Season by Month
| Month | What You Will See | Is It Worth Going for the Roses | May — early June | Flowerbeds are green, occasional early buds | ❌ No | Mid — late June | Roses begin to bloom en masse, but not all varieties | ✅ Yes, for calm photos | July — first half of August | Absolute peak, all 30 varieties are blooming | ✅ Definitely (but crowded) | Second half of August — early September | Roses are fading, some flowerbeds are being prepared for winter | ⚠️ Only if you are already in Kislovodsk | October — April | Dormant bushes, no flowers | ❌ No (only for walks) |

When is the Best Time to Come for Photos
If your main goal is quality photos, choose between two options:
- For perfect shots without crowds: second half of June (20th–30th). The roses are already blooming brightly, but the main flow of tourists hasn't arrived yet.
- For maximum lushness (postcard view): first half of July (July 1–15). All varieties are open, colors are the most saturated. But be prepared for people walking into your frame.
The best time for shooting during the day: weekdays from 8:30 to 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM. At noon, the light is too harsh, roses look wilted, and shadows are too contrasting.
Photographer's tip: head to the valley in the morning before 9:30 AM, before the tours and the cable car bring in the crowds. After 11 AM, it's hard to find a shot without people.
Important note: the weather makes adjustments of 1-2 weeks each year. A cold spring shifts blooming to the end of June, a hot one accelerates it. You can assess the current situation 2-3 weeks before your trip by checking recent reviews and current weather online.
🕐 Opening Hours
24/7, best visited during the day in July-August during blooming (see schedule above).

🚶 How to Get There
The Valley of Roses is located within the National Park, 2 kilometers from the Colonnade on the pedestrian Kurortny Boulevard (Valley of Roses on the map).
You can get here on foot through the park, and it's a fairly simple and pleasant walk lasting about 30 minutes. Along the way, you'll also see other interesting places in the national park. You'll need to climb 130 meters in elevation, but the ascent is very gentle, almost imperceptible, and easy even for elderly people or those with strollers. Finding the way is easy: there are signs everywhere and many people you can ask for directions. We recommend this method as the most interesting.
If you don't want to walk, near the Colonnade, you can take an electric taxi (golf cart type) that will take you to the valley for 300 rubles per person. These vehicles are constantly "on duty" near the Colonnade and depart once they fill up with tourists.
There are also budget ways to get to the Valley of Roses for just 35 rubles. You can take bus #27 and ride to its final stop, Chakovskogo Street, from where the valley is a stone's throw away. However, this bus does not start from the Colonnade; it runs along Vokzalnaya Street. You can board it at the stop at the intersection of Vokzalnaya Street and the pedestrian Kurortny Boulevard (see bus #27 route on the map).
Another option is to take city bus #8 near the Colonnade and ride to the final stop "Zarya Sanatorium". From there, you'll have to walk 1300 meters through the park to reach the valley (see bus #8 route on the map).
