What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
House-museum of K.G. Paustovsky is notable for the fact that the great writer and journalist Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky (1892-1968) lived in it for a very short time, in 1949. Many people know his works from the school curriculum, but even now you can discover it again and again – "Telegram", "Golden Rose", "Distant Years", the autobiographical collection "The Tale of Life" and others.
In fact, Paustovsky has been to the Old Crimea more than once. He was a fan of A.S. Green's work and first came here in 1934 to see the place where A.S. Green lived and wrote, and later came again and lived at different addresses. This house was bought to create the Paustovsky Museum, which has been operating since 2005.
The museum's exposition includes drawings, personal belongings, furnishings and household items. Everything that is connected not only with the life and memory of the writer in the Old Crimea, but also with the typical arrangement of the house of the 1940s-50s. The museum is small, there are few exhibits, so we advise you to visit only with a guide, otherwise, you should not go in.
We advise you to additionally check the current opening hours and ticket prices on the official website immediately before visiting, because they change annually.
