Orlovka is one of the farthest beaches of Sevastopol, located in Nakhimovsky district about 20 kilometers from the city center (Orlovka on the map of Crimea). Although it is considered only a remote urban beach, in fact today it is already an independent beach resort, where you can spend your entire vacation with pleasure. In some guidebooks on the Internet, you can find a description of the village of Orlovka, but in fact there is no such village officially. In fact, Orlovka is a small village with a population of less than a thousand people, and its center is located almost three kilometers from the shore and the beach. Two more villages of Osipenko and Polyushko, as well as a country and residential area, are located almost right next to each other. However, the beach itself and the tourist village, which is simply called the village of Orlovka, are located along the coastline. It is in this zone that the tourist infrastructure and accommodation options for recreation are concentrated, car camping is working.

The beach in Orlovka is the main advantage of the resort. There is a pleasant, fine yellow sand on the shore, and only in some places there are small pebbles near the water. The depth is small, and the bottom is mostly clean and smooth. And all this beauty stretches for almost two kilometers, without being interrupted by any fences and concrete breakwaters.

Actually, speaking objectively, the Orlovka beach is the only thing for which it is worth going here on vacation, since there are some disadvantages that cannot be concealed:

• Despite the beautiful beach under a layer of sand and in the water there are large stones
• There is nothing to do except beach holidays, there are no attractions and entertainment

And now we will tell you more about the infrastructure of the village so that you understand what to expect from this resort during your vacation. As we have already mentioned, the tourist zone or recreation area here is located not in the village itself, but near the beach. There are several cafes and restaurants in this place, fast food and drinks are sold. Unfortunately, these establishments cannot boast of low food prices, and you should expect to spend at least 500 rubles per adult for a hearty lunch without alcoholic beverages. But there is one especially institution here – a teahouse. It is famous for its separate arbor tables, as well as a mini-zoo, which is home to roosters, rare breeds of pigeons and even peacocks.

Shopping here is very poorly developed, there are only a few tiny grocery stores with significantly high prices. Of course, you can buy cold drinks, ice cream and even something to eat while relaxing on the beach, but they are not suitable for buying food for cooking. So if you are staying in a hotel without food and with a kitchen, you will have to go to the Gorodok store on the Kachinsky highway for groceries, or even better go to the center of Kachi (there are several decent shops and a supermarket near the bus station) or even to the center of Sevastopol. By the way, so far the only ATM in Orlovka is also located in the Gorodok store.

Also in the resort area near the beach there is a playground with simple attractions for the youngest children such as carousels, shooting galleries, slot machines, rental of children's bicycle and electric cars. Here you can also buy excursions from distributors.

Hotels and accommodation in Orlovka, where to stay

Basically, Orlovka offers accommodation options in the form of private guest houses, working informally and without signage, as well as rooms and apartments for rent in a residential complex. The prices are affordable, but the level of service and comfort is appropriate. If during your vacation you prefer to stay in hotel complexes, sanatoriums and boarding houses with meals, a swimming pool and other leisure services, it is better to look for options at another resort.

To make it clear to you how and where it is better to choose a place to stay in Orlovka, we will introduce you a little to the geography of the resort. Once again, we remind you that the village itself is located far from the coast, and therefore accommodation options for tourists are offered in the resort area along the beach. Here, on the shore north of the main entrance to the beach, there is a gated residential complex, which can only be entered or entered through a gate or checkpoint. There is a lot of housing for rent in it, but you need to take into account that the beaches opposite this complex are wild and are under a cliff, so you still have to go to the public Orlovka beach.

Another residential area is located a little further from the beach. And separated from it by the Kachin highway. This is something like a former garden association, and now it is also actively renting accommodation to vacationers. From here to the beach will have to walk 5-15 minutes, but the prices here are significantly lower.

Weather and tourist seasons in Orlovka

Seasonality is very much felt in Orlovka, so there is no point in going here outside the high tourist season – everything is closed, the tourist infrastructure does not work. The resort starts to "wake up" only in June, and more or less comfortable weather for a beach holiday is set in the second half of the month.

The ideal time for a beach holiday in Orlovka is July and August. During these months, the weather is most often hot and clear, although, of course, unexpected weather disasters have not been canceled.

You can stay at the resort in September. The weather in September is also not bad, you can swim and sunbathe, although the tourist infrastructure, which is already poorly developed here, is starting to collapse.

How to get to Orlovka

Orlovka is located on the western coast of Crimea, 20 kilometers from the center of Sevastopol and 80 kilometers from Simferopol and the main airport of the peninsula (Orlovka on the map of Crimea). The highway to Kacha passes through the village, and therefore the ways to get here and the prices for transport are similar. Since only buses go directly to Orlovka from public transport, we recommend using a taxi to travel from Simferopol airport or from the railway station. Aggregator applications do not work here, and therefore you will have to order a car at the counter in the arrivals hall, negotiate with the driver in the airport parking lot, request a transfer at your hotel or order a ready-made tourist transfer online on intui.travel. In the latter case, the driver will meet you at the train station or at the airport with a sign and deliver you directly to the hotel door. Passenger car, luxury car, minibuses for a large company are available for ordering:

• From Simferopol airport and Simferopol to Orlovka

  If you decide to refuse a taxi or a tourist transfer, but you can get from Simferopol airport by taxi. But you'll have to do transplants. First, from the airport, take a city bus or trolleybus to the bus station Kurortnaya, aka Simferopol AC-2. You can get there in 30-40 minutes and 25 rubles, the following routes follow:

  • trolleybuses No. 9, 20, 54, 55
  • Buses No.49, 98

  Upon arrival at the Kurortnaya bus station, you need to purchase bus tickets directly to Kacha, it goes through Orlovka. The cost is from 170 rubles, more than 2 hours on the way. Buses depart to 08:59, 12:35, 14:20, 18:00, but the schedule may change, it's better to check in advance on bus.tutu.ru, and you can also buy tickets there.

  If time permits and you want to see Sevastopol on the way, then you can get to Orlovka and through this city. But we'll have to make several transfers. There are frequent direct flights from the airport to Sevastopol, and then you will need to transfer to suburban buses, as indicated below.

• From Sevastopol railway station

  It is best to get to Orlovka by train through Simferopol railway station, since most train flights from cities of the Russian Federation go here, and it is also easier to get there by public transport. You can choose Sevastopol as the final station of the train, but then you will have to get there by bus with transfers, or take a taxi.

  So, to get from Sevastopol railway station to Orlovka, just go from the station to the nearby Kurortnaya bus station. From there to 08:59, 12:35, 14:20, 18:00 buses depart to Kacha via Orlovka, but the schedule may change, so it's better to check in advance at bus.tutu.ru, and You can also buy tickets there. The ticket costs from 170 rubles, travel time is about 2 hours.

• From Sevastopol

  From Sevostopol to Kacha through Orlovka there are suburban bus routes No. 36 and No. 137:

  • Route No. 36. Buses depart from the Severnaya bus station in Sevastopol every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 22:30, 40 minutes on the way, the cost starts from 55 rubles. The Severnaya bus station is located on the other side of the city center across the bay, but there is a pier of the same name nearby, where a ferry arrives from the Sevastopol embankment every 15-30 minutes from 05:00 to 23:30, the cost is 30 rubles.
  • Route #137. Departs from the center of Sevastopol from Ushakov Square every 60-80 minutes from 06:45 to 19:30, 1 hour on the way, the cost starts from 100 rubles. A kilometer from Ushakov Square there is the Sevastopol bus station (buses arrive here from the airport), and the railway station (trains arrive from Simferopol) (bus station on the map).

• From other cities of Crimea

  By direct buses you can get to Orlovka only from Sevastopol, Simferopol and Bakhchisarai, and therefore you will have to make transfers from other resorts. The most convenient way to get through Simferopol is with a transfer at the Kurortnaya bus station (see above). But if the schedule of departure of buses from Kurortnaya to Kachi (via Orlovka) does not suit you, you can do the route through Sevastopol. But keep in mind that then you still have to get from the bus station to the departure point of local buses to Ushakov Square or to the Severnaya bus station.
