How and how to get to Gaspra

Article and Section Navigation

Attention! Simferopol Airport is closed until December 15, flights are not operated in any of the directions. In this regard, the airport bus station also does not work. Probably, the ban period will be extended. As an alternative to traveling to Crimea, use trains, buses, personal transport, or buy tickets to the nearest valid Sochi Airport.

Gaspra Resort is located about 15 kilometers from the center of Yalta and 115 kilometers from Simferopol Airport (Gaspra on the map of Crimea). Because the settlement is part of Big Yalta, then almost all the ways here lead through Yalta, or rather through the large bus station of the city. Therefore, in addition to this instruction, we also advise you to read the detailed article how and how to get to Yalta on your own.

Gaspra does not have its own bus station or bus station, the nearest one is located a couple of kilometers away in the center of the neighboring resort Mishor (Koriez) on Alupkinskoe highway, 10 (Mishora bus station on the map). There you can buy tickets departing from almost any city in Crimea. But only very rare flights from/to Simferopol and the airport arrive and depart from here, and they do not go all year round, but only during the high tourist season. That is why in most cases you will have to transfer via Yalta. There is no building or waiting room at the bus station, it is only a small pavilion of the car station. It is open from 08:00 to 17:00 with a lunch break from 12:00 to 12:45, the phone number for inquiries is 8 (3654) 24-23-61.

Instead of getting involved with the difficulties of an independent trip to Mishor, we advise you to first check the prices for ready-made tours with included airfare. Sometimes such tours are even cheaper than a separate booking + airfare, purchased independently, especially if you buy a tour in advance or "catch" hot prices. You can find and book a holiday in Mishor at no extra charge directly from tour operators on these Russian tour search and booking sites:

If, despite all the difficulties, you still decided to get to Gaspra on your own, then from the cities and regions of the Russian Federation it can be done through the main transport hub of the Crimea – Simferopol, where there is a large airport and a junction railway station. Flights of planes and trains from most major cities and regions of the Russian Federation are operated to Simferopol all year round, and additional charter and regular flights are launched during the summer tourist season. For a trip in high season, it is better to purchase tickets in advance.

And now about everything in more detail:

Gaspra how to get there

By taxi from the airport and railway station to Gaspra

Taxi at Simferopol airport
Taxi at Simferopol airport

It is best to go on vacation with comfort, so we advise you to consider a taxi as the main way to get from the airport to Gaspra in the first place. Perhaps out of habit you think that a taxi ride is too expensive and you will want to take buses to save money. But in fact, a simple calculation shows that a trip by a company or family by taxi is even cheaper. In addition, when traveling by bus to Gaspra, you will have to make a transfer, and even upon arrival at the resort, you will have to get to the hotel from the bus station or bus stop on foot or by taxi. Well, it would not be superfluous to remind you that suburban buses are not designed for traveling with suitcases.

A taxi from the airport to Gaspra will cost from 1600 rubles. This is the minimum price, and it depends on the season, time of day and the method of ordering the car. You can order a car:

  • At the arrival terminal at the taxi counter (this is the most expensive);
  • Arrange a trip with the drivers in the airport parking lot (they initially ask for even more than at the counter, but you can bargain cheaper);
  • Order a taxi by phone or on the websites of local companies (this is the cheapest option).

Applications of aggregators Yandex, Uber, etc. They are blocked in Crimea due to sanctions, but you can install local taxi applications directly from company websites, if, of course, you trust the installation from such sources.

If you like to plan everything in advance, you can use the booking of a tourist transfer. This is an analogue of a taxi with increased comfort, including meeting you with a driver at the airport or train station with a sign. Passenger car, luxury car, minibuses for large groups or families are available for ordering. You can check the prices for the transfer and book it on the websites kiwitax.ru and intui.travel, or directly through this search form from Intui.travel:

By bus from the airport to Gaspra

There are no buses from the airport directly to Gaspra, but you can get on passing flights to Mishor (Koreiz) and Simeiz, or transfer via Yalta. Here's more details:

  • Buses to Mishor

    There are rare direct buses from the airport to the Mishora bus station and to Simeiz, usually no more than twice a day. They pass through Gaspra and end up at the bus station in the center of Miskhor (Mishora bus station on the map), or make a stop there and go on to Simeiz. You can get off both on the way to Gaspra and at the Mskhora bus station, depending on which part of the village you need to get to. But before buying a ticket, please specify which route the bus will take, since they can go through Gaspra not directly through the village, but along the main highway Yuzhnoberezhnoye, from which you will still have to get several kilometers to the center.

    Direct buses to Mishor cost from 600 rubles, three hours on the way. You can check the direct bus schedule on the Crimean Transportation website https://krimavtotrans.info, and you can buy tickets online at bus.tutu.ru or unitiki.com.

  • With a transfer via Yalta

    In our opinion, this is a more preferable and convenient option than a direct bus, since you don't have to wait long for the bus, and it's easier to get to the place you need at the resort itself after the transfer.

    From the airport, take a direct bus to Yalta, they depart approximately every hour, cost from 550 rubles, 2 and a half hours on the way. When you arrive at the Yalta bus station, from here you can get to the place of rest in Gaspra by taxi from 500 to 1000 rubles, or take suburban buses. Through Gaspra from Yalta bus station there are such suburban routes:

    Please note that these routes go along different roads inside Gaspra, so choose the option that runs closer to your hotel. For this, see the maps on the links. These buses do not run often, and do not always adhere to the schedule, but they are very cheap, the fare will cost from 36 rubles (depending on the distance).

By bus from the railway station to Gaspra

Next to the Simferopol railway station is the main tourist bus station "Kurortnaya", which is also indicated in the schedule as "Simferopol AC-2". There are direct flights from it to the bus stations Mishora (Koreiza) and Simeiza, and they pass through Gaspra. But these buses are very rare, they leave about twice a day. Drive 3 hours, cost from 500 rubles. The schedule changes seasonally, so check it before traveling to https://krimavtotrans.info, and tickets can be purchased at bus.tutu.ru or unitiki.com.

If a direct bus according to the schedule does not suit you, then go with a transfer through Yalta. To do this, go on foot from the railway station to the Kurortnaya bus station, and take the nearest bus to Yalta (they go often, travel from 500 USD), or to trolleybus No. 52 from the stop next to Kurortnaya (runs every 30 minutes, costs from 180 USD). Then, at the Yalta bus station, transfer to suburban No. 115 or 102, or by taxi.

To Gaspra by car

The car enters the Crimean bridge
Driving across the Crimean Bridge

If you are traveling by car, then you need to enter the Crimean Peninsula through the new Crimean Bridge. Travel on it is free, at the entrance you will need to go through selective security control. After crossing the bridge, you will find yourself in Kerch, from where you can get to Gaspra using one of two popular route options:

  • To save both time and fuel, it is best to go to Gaspra along the Tavrida highway through Simferopol-Alushta-Yalta. You need to drive about 300 kilometers, and in time it will take from 4 to 6 hours, depending on traffic jams that may form on the site after Simferopol.
  • For those who prefer to drive slowly and admire the beauties of the Crimean peninsula, you can choose the route along the coast through Feodosia-Koktebel-Sudak-Alushta. In terms of distance, this route will be about the same as the first one, but the road is more complicated and slower, with serpentines and through settlements, including resorts. Therefore, more time will be spent on the trip, about 8 hours. But along the way you will be able to visit many interesting places. However, if you stop near every attraction, then most likely you will have to spend the night somewhere else along the way, because you will not be able to see everything during daylight hours.

When he arrives in Gaspra, we advise you to park the car next to the hotel, and do not use it during the rest without special need. The fact is that the roads in Gaspra are narrow and inconvenient, there are almost no parking spaces, and you can't get to the beach by car at all. Therefore, it is better to travel on foot, and use the car only for long trips to attractions and entertainment. The same applies to trips to the center of Yalta: it will be extremely difficult to find free parking places there, so it's better to get there by taxi or buses, and not worry about the safety and security of your car left somewhere on the streets of Yalta while you walk around the city. We advise you to read our article on this subject about Yalta transport and how tourists can travel here.

By the way, with long-term parking in Gaspra, too, not everything is so simple, there is catastrophically little space. Therefore, even when choosing a hotel or holiday accommodation, we advise you to look in the description of the object for the opportunity to park nearby.

Since traveling by car is always fraught with risk, we advise you to issue voluntary CASCO insurance in addition to compulsory CTP insurance, which will protect you from unforeseen expenses in case of an accident, unpleasant weather surprises, damage to the car by ill-wishers, theft and other troubles. And if you are running out of CTP, then today it is most profitable to arrange it online on these sites:
