What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
Golubitskoye Mud Lake is also known as Golubitsky mud volcano.. This is a fairly large lake with a length of about half a kilometer, it is believed to be of volcanic origin. On its banks and bottom there is a therapeutic mud, popularly known as curative, but there is no evidence of this.
In fact, the real Golubitsky mud volcano is not on the shore, but a couple of hundred meters from the shore under water. It very rarely erupts, and its eruptions cannot be seen from shore. Apparently, one of its streams made its way to the shore, and here this Mud Lake was formed.
Tourists and some locals visit it and smear "healing" mud for their pleasure, believing in its healing power. Those who do not want to smear together with everyone can take mud baths in an improvised mud clinic in the open air. They ask for 300 rubles for taking a bath, but you can bargain, especially if you come with your family.
The beneficial properties of this mud are not confirmed, nor is it confirmed that it is safe for health. At least, we could not find official information about the study of this dirt and the recognition of its therapeutic. But if this does not stop you, then adhere to the following safety rules for its use:
- Do not apply dirt in one procedure on the whole body at once, it is recommended to apply it on the limbs and joints.;
- After application, you need to wait until it dries, after which it must be washed off;
- Try not to get dirt in your mouth, nose, eyes;
- Repeat the "mud treatment" no earlier than the next day;
- Look after the children and be careful yourself: although even in the center of the lake is knee-deep, there are also very deep places.
