What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Sycamore alley is a popular pedestrian zone for vacationers in Gelendzhik. It is located in the center of the resort and on the left side of the Bay almost perpendicular to the embankment, and stretches along Ostrovsky street from the embankment for a little more than half a kilometer. And oddly enough, Sycamore Alley is not the name of an independent street, but only a small part of Ostrovsky street so called.

On some sites you can find a description of Sycamore alley, that this is a place of unprecedented beauty because of the trees growing along the street-long-lived Sycamores. However, in our opinion, to say that the alley is very beautiful, can only be a stretch. Most of all, it is interesting for vacationers, as another place for walking along with Gelendzhik embankment. Along the alley there are cafes and restaurants, including a chain restaurant "McDonald's", shops and boutiques, shops with goods for tourists, selling excursions. During the walk you can relax on the benches in the shade of plane trees.

But the most interesting thing is that street performances take place on the alley, local artists and artisans exhibit their works. On weekends, there is a fair selling local products and handicrafts, original souvenirs. In general, it is fun and crowded, and especially in the evenings.
