Gorgippia is an ancient city that existed on the site of present–day Anapa from the IV century BC to the III century AD. Its ruins were discovered during archaeological excavations, and now they are part of this open-air archaeological museum. When visiting, you can wander between the ruins on your own along the equipped paths, but ideally it should be done with an excursion to learn the history of this place and listen to an interesting story about how the city was organized and what its inhabitants did.
In addition to the ruins of the ancient city, the museum also includes several collections in the building, which included the most valuable finds: coins, sculptures, dishes, jewelry, weapons, etc. These are expositions: "Ancient city", "Before and after Gorgippia", "Antiquities of the Asian Bosporus", "Andreevskaya gap – new finds", "Memorial Hall of Mother Mary". Each of the expositions and the archaeological reserve itself (territory with ruins) are visited by a separate ticket, but you can buy a single one for all exhibitions. If you don't know what to choose from this variety, then just go to the ticket office to buy tickets, and they will tell you everything and advise you there. And, by the way, expositions sometimes change, so it makes no sense to study and solve them before visiting, because when you arrive, everything may already be different.
But whichever option you choose, we strongly advise you to visit this museum with excursion service. It is not very expensive (if not individually, but in a group), but it will greatly enliven your hike. And in general, to be honest, this museum is much more interesting to visit than Anapa Museum of Local Lore, so if you are faced with a choice, we recommend visiting this one.

🕐 Working hours: in summer from 10:00 to 20:00 seven days a week, in winter the working hours may be limited. Excursions start in 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00.
💵 Entrance fee / ticket price: the pricing system is quite confusing, prices change frequently. But if in general, then you can choose to visit one or more of the available expositions, as well as the archaeological park itself (to walk around the territory). The cost of visiting each of the exhibitions is 80-150 rubles, a walk through the territory is 100 rubles. You can also buy a single ticket for all exhibitions and territory at once from 770 rubles. Excursion support is paid additionally for 50 rubles for each exhibition. It also offers a walk around the territory + a walking tour of the city for 250 rubles. 🚶 How to get there: located in the center of the resort at Naberezhnye Chelny str., 4 (museum on the map), and from anywhere in the center is easily accessible on foot. If you need to get from other areas of Anapa, it is best to go by bus to the stop "Astrakhan street" and then 5 minutes on foot.
