What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

In Dombay there is a system of cable cars, but they are interesting not only for skiers, but also for ordinary tourists visiting the resort in winter or summer. On them you can climb to the observation decks on Mount Mussa Achitara, from where you can enjoy stunning views, in good weather you can even see Elbrus, and in summer you can walk on the remnants of snow. Therefore, every tourist who comes to Dombay should ride at least one of them.

There are several cable cars in Dombay. They differ in purpose and device, but in general all lead upwards in one direction: to the slopes and the top of Mount Mussa Achitara. For use by skiers, there are several queues and varieties that rise to the very top of the ski slopes.

The new cable car is the highest and consists of three queues that will take you to a height of 3130 meters, or as stated on the information board of the cable car, 3200 meters. From there, you can walk to an even higher peak about 20 meters higher. Upstairs there is a souvenir market, hot and hot drinks are sold, cafes work, take photos with magnets. And, by the way, even in the summer it's cold upstairs, take a jacket or hoodie.

To get to the top, first you go up one section (queue) of the cable car, so go and change to the second, and then to the third section. The first stage is closed eight-seater cabins, then there is a six-seater chairlift,and a four-seater. At each level of the stop there is something to see, and it is not necessary to go up to all three queues, you can limit yourself to 1 or 2 if you really need to save money.
