Cheboksary can not be called an attractive place for a tourist holiday with children. But if you are in this city during your trip, here you can find several remarkable places where you can take your children. Red Square and Efremov Boulevard

These are the two main pedestrian zones in Cheboksary and a kind of tourist center of the city. This, of course, is far from a pedestrian Arbat like in Moscow or Bauman Street in Kazan, but it is from here that you should start a tourist acquaintance with the city. 🚶 How to get there: Red Square and Efremov Boulevard are located in the center of the city on the shore of Cheboskary Bay (Red Square on the map, Efremov Boulevard on the map). A taxi ride even from the outskirts of the city here will cost no more than 200 rubles, or you can take city buses and trolleybuses, there are a lot of routes here.

In residential areas, away from the tourist center, there is a large city park of the 500th anniversary of Cheboksary (or simply a city park) with an entertainment ethnocomplex "Amazonia", where you can go with children to attractions. There is a ferris wheel, an extreme attraction "Move it", simple children's carousels, go-karts, a planetarium, a rope park, a heated summer pool, catamaran rides on the lake, and in winter there is an ice rink.

🚶 How to get there: the park is located three kilometers from the center (Park on the map, Efremov Boulevard on the map), and therefore it is better to get here by taxi or public transport. You can get there by almost any bus or trolleybus to the stop "campus".

This is another great place in Cheboksary for walking, but unlike the tourist Red Square and Efremov Boulevard there are no attractions here. The embankment is well equipped: there are shops for recreation, there are playgrounds, cafes, there is modern night lighting. In summer, the embankment blooms in all its glory and there is a city sandy beach, sports and playgrounds, sports equipment, bicycles, roller skates, velomobiles, etc.are offered for rent. we can safely say that after the partial reconstruction, the Moscow embankment has become one of the best on the Volga, and will become even better, since the continuation of work is planned for 2021-2022. Therefore, we advise you to visit it and relax on the beach if you find yourself in Cheboksary in June-August.

🚶 How to get there: The Moscow embankment stretches for about 6 kilometers along the Volga Coast starting from Cheboksary Bay (embankment on the map). It is not perfectly equipped throughout, but only the first couple of kilometers closer to the center, but the rest is quite good. This is one of the most interesting museums in Cheboksary, and your students will especially like it. The fact is that on the first floor of the museum there is a huge collection of real tractors from all over the world, and all of them can be touched, climbed inside, turned the steering wheels, pulled levers and pressed buttons. Children are just crazy about it, and they are not so easy to drag them away from this exhibition. On the second floor there is a lot of thematic cognitive information for adults about the history of the tractor, its importance in human life, tractor manufacturers from different countries. 💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: adults-200 rubles, schoolchildren – 100, students and pensioners-150, preschoolers – 50 rubles, children under 4 years-free of charge. Individual excursion - 500 rubles.

🚶 How to get there: located near Cheboksary aggregate plant at Mira Street, 1, Building 2 (Museum on the map). It is far from the city center, not accessible on foot. You can get there by taxi for about 100 rubles, buses and minibuses No. 42, 45, 52, 54 and trolleybuses №№ 2, 5, 9, 15, 18.

Victory Park and Museum of military equipment

At the main entrance to the city Victory Park there is an exhibition of large military equipment of the Second World War. In total, there are more than 15 exhibits, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, helicopters, airplanes, Katyushas, artillery pieces. Children are happy to touch and climb the equipment, and then you can walk through the green Victory Park past the fountains, the Victory Monument, and go to the Volga on the Kazan embankment.

Chuvash National Museum

This is the first place to visit, from which we advise you to start exploring the city and the Republic, even if you come to get acquainted with the city with children. This is the largest and most informative museum of the Republic of Chuvashia, where you will learn the history of the region, Life, Culture and achievements of the Chuvash people. The exhibition is without exaggeration interesting and informative, however, provided that you will inspect it with a tour (offered when buying tickets) or slowly get acquainted with the exhibits with the help of information signatures. Center for Contemporary Art

This is another branch of the Art Museum, located in a separate building. There is a permanent exhibition of works by contemporary artists, but most of the exposition is a temporary exhibition. Painting, graphics, sculpture, applied art and photography are presented. It seems that it will not be interesting for children, but fascinating master classes are held here, and sometimes children's performances are in the program.
