Description and is it worth visiting
The Symphony Lake Fountain is located in KLCC Park at the foot of the famous Petronas Twin Towers (more about the Petronas Towers). It's an artificial lake covering 10,000 square feet, where a free fountain show takes place every evening. Two musical installations perform over 150 unique programs: water jets rise to a height of up to 18 meters (about the height of 6 floors), shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow, and move to the rhythm of modern and traditional Malaysian melodies. However, some sources claim a jet height of 42 meters, but we can't confirm that; we personally haven't seen jets that high there.
Honestly, this show isn't an attraction worth traveling to Kuala Lumpur specifically for. However, it's one of the few places in the city you can go in the evening, especially if you're traveling with children. Plus, it offers a magnificent view of the Petronas Towers illuminated at night, making the atmosphere truly magical.
KLCC Park itself is also worth attention: there are walking paths, playgrounds, and even a small pool where you can cool off on a hot day. In the evenings, it's especially crowded — both tourists and locals with families come here.
We recommend coming here after sunset and be sure to bring your camera: night shots of the illuminated fountain jets against the backdrop of the giant towers turn out great. Another plus — entry to the park and the show itself is completely free.
Here's what the show looks like in reality — a short video from our last visit. Of course, the video doesn't capture the full atmosphere, but it gives a general idea. We still recommend seeing it with your own eyes, especially if you're nearby in the evening.
🕐 Opening hours
The fountain show takes place daily from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Usually, the performances start at the beginning of each hour — at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM, several compositions are played, followed by a pause. However, sometimes the fountain and music are also turned on in between. To avoid guessing, it's better to come at the start of the hour.

🚶 How to get there
The fountain is located on the opposite side of the Petronas Towers, where KLCC Park is situated (light and sound fountain on the map). The towers are visible from anywhere in the city, so getting to them on foot from nearby areas is easy. If you are staying in the KLCC area or in Bukit Bintang, the towers are just a short walk away.
From other areas, you can take a taxi (better via the Grab app, a trip will cost from 10 MYR (2.52 USD)) or the metro. Right next to the towers is the Kuala Lumpur city metro station KLCC (Kelana Jaya line) — metro map and description. The nearest monorail station, Bukit Nanas, is a 15-minute walk away. You can also get to the towers by GOKL tourist buses (green line).
