Description and is it worth visiting
KLCC Aquarium (Aquaria KLCC) is the only oceanarium in Kuala Lumpur. It is located in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center area at the foot of the famous Petronas Towers, on its basement level. Its area is about 5,600 square meters, and it is home to more than 5,000 tropical fish and marine animals. The territory is divided into several thematic zones simulating different ecosystems — from the flooded forests of the Amazon to deep ocean sections.
The main reason people come here is the 90-meter underwater tunnel with a moving walkway. Standing on it, you can watch as sharks, giant rays, sea turtles, and schools of bright fish swim literally an arm's length away overhead. In addition to the regular viewing, there is also an entertainment program: fish and piranha feeding, Garra Rufa fish massage sessions, and even extreme activities like cage shark diving (Cage Rage).
If you are traveling with children, this place is worth the money and time — the child will be absolutely delighted. But there are also a few nuances to consider. On weekends and holidays, it's quite crowded here, as many local families come to escape the heat. Also, the glass in some aquariums is not always perfectly clean, and the lighting is rather dim, which makes it difficult to take truly clear and beautiful photos without glare. If you are short on time, have a limited budget, and have already been to large oceanariums like those in Sanya or Singapore, then Aquaria KLCC can be skipped without much regret. Otherwise, it's a good way to immerse yourself in the underwater world for a couple of hours in the center of a noisy metropolis.

🕐 Opening hours
Daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Visitor entry stops one hour before closing, at 7:00 PM.
Fish feeding takes place according to a schedule that may vary slightly. Typically, piranha, arapaima, electric eel feeding sessions, and the diver show in the main aquarium occur at 10:45 AM, 11:15 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, as well as at 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM (on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays). It's best to check the current schedule on the official website before your visit.
💵 Admission / ticket price
The entry price for foreigners and locals differs. Here are the rates for foreign visitors:
- Adults (13 years and over) – 85 MYR (21.41 USD)
- Children (3-11 years old) – 75 MYR (18.9 USD)
You can buy tickets on the spot, but it's better online on the official website (doesn't accept Russian cards) or on Trip.com (accepts Russian cards, prices are often lower than official). But be careful when buying, so you don't accidentally buy a cheap ticket for locals — foreign tourists need to choose the Non-Malaysian option.
🚶 How to get there
The Aquarium is located in the 'Golden Triangle' in the KLCC area next to the Petronas Towers (KLCC Aquarium on the map). The most convenient way is to take the metro to KLCC station (Kelana Jaya line), then walk through the underground passage via the Suria KLCC shopping mall, following the signs to Aquaria. If you're taking a taxi, just tell the driver 'Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre' — the aquarium entrance is on its lower ground floor.
