This is a rare and valuable product that is difficult to find even in Bali. Unlike ordinary honey, it is produced by small ruthless bees – they really do not sting and look almost black.

This kind of honey is very different from the usual. It tastes at the same time sweet, sour, and then a little bitter. There is a fruity aroma and a delicate texture, in other words, it is much more liquid. It seemed to us somewhat similar to rosehip syrup, but it may seem something different to you. This honey is extracted very little, because these bees collect nectar from rare flowers and do it slowly. Accordingly, it is rare and very expensive. But any tourist in Bali, if desired, will be able to find it and buy it as an original gift.

Black bees live in the tropics, and their honey is special. However, there is some confusion with this: you can also find black honey on sale, it is called and signed on packages as Black Honey. But the honey of black or ruthless bees is something else entirely. It is not the same as "black honey" either in taste or in origin. The fact is that "Black honey" is produced by ordinary bees. It just gets a very dark color due to the fact that bees collect it on certain plants (according to some information it is sugar cane or cumin, but this is not accurate) or during a severe drought.

So remember! Black honey and honey of black ruthless bees are different things. If you want to find and buy the honey of black ruthless bees, which we are talking about, then you need to look not for Black Honey, but for Stingless Bee Honey or at least Black Bee Honey.

Where to buy honey from black bees and how much does it cost

In Bali, such honey is not sold everywhere. We traveled and visited dozens of markets and shops, and we were most often told that they didn't know where to buy ego, or offered to buy black honey instead (read above – this is different), probably just not understanding what we were asking.

But in the end, we finally managed to find him, and in the most unexpected place - in the tourist heart of Bali in the resort of Kuta in the Beachwalk Shopping Center. In this shopping center on the ground floor there is a chain supermarket Coco Gourmet, here it is on the map. There on the shelves we found this honey in factory packaging for 299,000 rupees per 320 grams (approximately 16.76 USD).
