Nyang-Nyang Beach and is it worth going here
Nyang-Nyang Beach or Niang-Niang (Nyang-Nyang Beach) is one of the few "islands" of serenity and crowds of tourists remaining in the south of Bali. It is located on the southernmost edge of the Bukit Peninsula, and it can be called one of the wildest and most deserted beaches in the area (Nyang-Nyang Beach on the map).
Nyang Nyang as a place to go on vacation from other areas during the day is just great. It is very natural, about a kilometer long, and it may turn out that you will find yourself almost alone along this entire length. Only rare tourists, the most passionate seekers of secluded beaches, get here. And it's not to say that it's very difficult and far to get to Nyang-Nyang, because it's located next to the popular Uluwatu temple, where tourists just come in droves. But to get to it, you will have to walk down the dusty and rocky dirt road from the parking lot about 400 meters and with a height difference of almost 90 meters. But it's okay to go down, you still have to go back up. Probably for this reason there are no crowds of tourists here, because few people want to walk up and down.
When you go down to the shore, you will find a cafe with drinks and simple dishes, not to say cheap. There is nothing else on the rest of the beach. This, in general, is its main charm. Therefore, take a mattress or a beach towel with you, preferably an umbrella (there is no shade here), drinks and a snack, and go to this cozy and secluded corner away from the eyes.
But for the sake of fairness, let's honestly say that it is poorly suited for swimming at low tide. To enter the water to refresh yourself here, of course, it will work, but to jump on the waves and swim in any way. Literally immediately after entering, you will stumble upon a reef with sharp rocks and corals. Therefore, here you can just relax on the beach, sunbathe and enjoy the privacy. You can swim with a mask, there are a lot of underwater life, but be careful with sharp stones. Oh, yes, you can still surf, but you'll have to bring your own board or rent it somewhere else.
Please note that the time of tides does not depend on the time of day, but is determined by calculations and forecast tables. You can view the tide times and the forecast to determine when it is best to go to this beach:
How to get to Nyang-Nyang Beach (Nyang-Nyang Beach)
Nyang-Nyang Beach is located on the southernmost edge of the Bukit Peninsula (Nyang-Nyang on the map). It is 20 kilometers from the airport and Kuta, and it takes about an hour to drive through traffic jams. You need to go to this point with parking (parking for Nyang-Nyang Beach on the map), only here there is a passage to the beach. At this point the asphalt ends and there is a barrier. Previously, it was possible to drive a little further down the dirt road beyond the barrier, but now it seems that they are no longer allowed to pass (but this is not accurate). They ask for 5000 rupees for parking and passage (0.28 USD), before everything was free. Then walk down the dirt road 400 meters and about 90 meters of elevation difference.
