Nungalan Beach and is it worth going here
Nunggalan Beach is also called Nyang-Nyang Beach 2 (Nyang-Nyang Beach-2). And indeed these two beaches are easy to confuse: they are very similar and are located on the same shore, separated by a stone cliff, through which at low tide you can move from one beach to another.
So Nugalan beach is located in the extreme south of Bali (Nunggalan on the map), and this is one of the few beaches still untouched by civilization in this most developed tourist part of the island. The reason is its inaccessibility. And it's not at all that few people know about it or there is no road here. And the fact is that from the parking of the transport to the beach you will have to walk along a difficult path of half a kilometer and more than 120 meters in height, and accordingly climb back as much. This is a fairly large height difference, and with a leisurely walk it will take 20-30 minutes, and people in not the best physical shape for an hour. And if you consider that you still have to walk in the heat, then it becomes clear why the beach is wild and deserted.
The length of the sandy strip here is 2 kilometers. And you may even be the only vacationers here. There is no infrastructure on the shore. Sometimes there are simple tourist cafes in the form of a tent made of bamboo, where you can buy drinks, cold coconut, some kind of fast food like snacks. There are umbrellas there too. There are a couple more such points along the way on the trail. But there is no guarantee that cafes will work during your visit, so it's better to be safe and take drinks and food with you. Of course, you need to take a mattress and a beach towel, and a beach umbrella will not hurt, since there is very little shade on the shore.
The coast here is very beautiful, the sand is pleasant. But it happens that garbage is thrown ashore by waves. The beach is suitable for swimming in principle, but there are sharp rocks and reefs under the water. At high tide, the entrance to the water is very steep, the depth is almost immediately. There are strong waves near the shore.
Approximately in the middle of the beach on the shore there is a skeleton of a beached ship. More precisely, only the nose remained of it.
Please note that the time of tides does not depend on the time of day, but is determined by calculations and forecast tables. You can view the tide times and the forecast to determine when it is best to go to this beach:
