Memorial to the victims of the Bali Bomb Memorial or Ground Zero Monument installed at the site of the terrorist attack in Sari Club and Paddy's pub on October 12, 2002. Then 202 people died here, including 164 foreign tourists. This is a place of memory, where flowers are brought today.
Two years later, on the site of the destroyed Paddy's Pub on Legian Street, a memorial was opened in memory of those who died on that tragic day. The memorial is made of carved stone, to which is attached a plaque with the names and citizenship of all the victims. The memorial was opened on October 12, 2004 on the second anniversary of the tragic events.
The terrorist attacks of 2002 and 2005 caused the cessation of the flow of tourists to paradise Bali (newspaper headlines were full of the names "Paradise Lost"). A few years later, despite the real threat of terrorism, tourists gradually began to return to Kuta again.
