Lake Failure - this is perhaps the most famous and visited attraction of the resort. The fame of this place was brought by the film "Twelve Chairs": remember, Ostap Bender sold tickets for the entrance to this attraction. The statue of the "great Combinator", by the way, meets visitors at the entrance, although now it does not take money for the entrance. And in fact, the filming location of the film was not at all here, but near the grotto of Lermontov. From the platform in front of the entrance to the tunnel to the lake there are good views of the city, and directly at the entrance there is the famous statue of Ostap Bender and an information plate with the history of this place.

As for the lake itself, this is a rather interesting natural formation. It is located at the bottom of a deep karst crater, and a horizontal man-made cave 58 meters long leads to it. The lake is filled with healing water of blue color, saturated with hydrogen sulfide, i.e. you will feel here the typical smell of this gas – rotten eggs. Unfortunately, access directly to the water is closed by a grid, and the view of the water is not the most pleasant: it is covered with an unpleasant film of dust and debris. It is said that this is due to the fact that the source has dried up and the water is no longer replaced by new water.
