Academic gallery - this is a historical monument, one of the iconic architectural sights of the city. Previously, there was a museum of insects (moved to another place), and now there is only a cafe. From the platform in front of the gallery there is a view of Emanuelevsky Park.

Previously, the gallery was called Elizabethan by the name of the source from which mineral water was supplied here. And, initially (from 1820 to 1846) it was a canvas tent with a dirt floor, and then a wooden structure. The current beautiful building was built between 1847 and 1851. According to the project, there was to be a terrace on the roof of the gallery, connected by suspension bridges with neighboring mountains, but it was never completed.
