By car

Gorodets from Nizhny Novgorod is 60-70 kilometers away, depending on the chosen route, 1-2 hours in time. You can drive along the Left Bank of the Volga through Zinyaki, and you can go on the right through Balakhna and Zavolzhye, and after Zavolzhye on the other side of the River Drive through the hydroelectric dam.

The road through Zinyaki is a little shorter, more deserted, but also a little worse. Through Balakhna and Zavolzhye, the road is a little better, but the distance is longer, and besides, you have to drive a long way along Nizhny through traffic jams, while through Zinyaki after crossing the bridges you almost immediately leave the city. And keep in mind that in the summer from the second half of Friday to Sunday on these routes there may be big traffic jams due to summer residents.

In Gorodets, the traffic is very calm: there is little transport, there are plenty of parking places. You can park your car in a large free parking lot on Maxim Gorky Street near the pier and the city of Masters, and from there go for a walk on foot. If there is no place there or you do not find the way there, then you can easily leave the car on any street on the side of the road, just watch out for forbidding signs.
