General description of beaches

The beaches in Shchelkino deserve the best praise. All of them are sandy and long, without breakwaters and fences. This is just the perfect place for those who prefer sandy beaches, and not Pebble, as on the south coast. Almost everywhere the slope of the bottom is small, the waves are weak, even the smallest children can swim safely here. Well, it is impossible not to mention the warmer sea of Azov. Already in June, it warms up and you can swim comfortably, while the Black is still too cool. And there are no undercurrents like on the Black Sea, which even in the height of summer can sharply cool the waters off the coast for several days.

But there are local beaches and some disadvantages. Keep in mind that even at the height of the beach season, there are very few water activities. As a maximum, inflatable slides appear on the beach, you can play with a ball, but no jet skis, bananas, parachutes, etc. There is also no embankment or even its similarity, and along the entire coast there is a dusty primer, which theoretically is a pedestrian zone and is prohibited for traffic, but cars park and drive here, despite the ban. Well, perhaps the most unpleasant moment-ticks. On the outskirts of the city beach, there is a lot of vegetation rich in these dangerous insects, and some tourists say that they found them even on the beach. Therefore, resting here periodically check the body and clothes for their presence.

And now a little more about each of the beaches of Shchelkino, of which there are only two:

• Shchelkino City Beach

  It stretches continuously for 3 kilometers, sharing a sandy strip with the neighboring resort-the village of Mysovoye (Urban on the map). Completely Sandy, made of beautiful yellow fine sand mixed with broken shell. The entrance to the water is very gentle, ideal even for the youngest children, the waves are small. The beaches are modestly equipped, but all the most basic things are there: changing cabins, umbrellas and sun beds for rent. But sun loungers are not enough, so bring a beach towel or mattress. • Tatarsky Beach

  Tatarsky Beach (Tatarka) is located in Tatarskaya Bay 3 kilometers on foot or 4 by car from the city center on the other side of the Cape on which Shchelkino is located (Tatarsky on the map). It is much more deserted than the central beach, there is almost no infrastructure, only a couple of cafes and a few abandoned or partially working recreation centers and children's camps (some are being restored, so maybe the situation will change soon). But here is the base of the kite school "Exoho", which offers equipment rental and training in kiting and surfing. The depth here is also small, children can safely go tens of meters from the shore. The sand is white mixed with shells.

  But the most remarkable thing about this beach is its scale. The sand strip stretches continuously for 30 kilometers from here! If you want to find a secluded place, or want to relax with a tent right on the shore, then here you will find everything. However, keep in mind that the asphalt road ends at the entrance to the beach, and further along the coast you will have to move along a sandy primer.

  

  

  

• Other beaches

  In addition to the two mentioned beaches, there are many small coves around the perimeter of the Kazantip Peninsula. They are good because there are almost no vacationers, so if you want to retire and sunbathe topless, you can get to one of these bays. But the places here are very rocky and dangerous, the descents to them are also dangerous, and some can only be reached by boat.
