Mausoleum of Eski-Durbe is the oldest tomb in Bakhchisarai, and as previously thought, built during the Golden Horde in the XIV century even before the appearance here Khan's Palace of Bakhchisarai. However, more recent archaeological studies attribute its appearance to the XVII century. Actually, Eski-Durbe is translated from the Turkic language – "old tomb".

This landmark is recognized as an architectural monument, but it is not known who was buried here. It is believed that this was some kind of rich and famous person. The mausoleum is distinguished by skillful stone works, in which the accuracy and purity of the square masonry of the walls are observed, details and decorations are worked out. It was built of yellow stone, not white limestone, like the other 10 tombs in residential areas of the old city of Bakhchisarai.

Unfortunately, today this attraction is not very attractive for tourists. The building is abandoned and fenced, there is no information sign and no signpost. Previously, it was possible to walk around the mausoleum and even look inside, but today it is impossible to do this, and only part of its walls will appear to your eyes from the side of the road. This place will be interesting only for big lovers of history and architecture.
