Unfortunately, there are a minimum of tourist accommodation options in Bakhchisarai, there are literally only a few of them. There are no hotels here, tourists can stay only in small private guest houses, rooms and apartments rented for a short time by local residents, or at the campsite "Halt". At the same time, at a fairly high price, comfort and quality accommodation does not stand out here. Therefore, we recommend booking in advance at least a few days before arrival. At the same time, in our experience, it doesn't make much sense to book a long time in advance for a month or more, or even before the start of the tourist season, as is usually done for holidays at Crimean beach resorts, in Bakhchisarai.

In what place (area) Is it better to choose accommodation in Bakhchisarai?
The fact is that Bakhchisarai is not such a small town, as many tourists believe. This happens because most vacationers are only in its small compact part, but in fact the size of its residential areas is about 5 by 7 kilometers, because it's not for nothing that urban public transport even works here. And accordingly, it is important to choose a suitable area of the city for tourist accommodation, so as not to be away from attractions and tourist infrastructure. We advise you not to neglect this.
Today Bakhchisarai is administratively divided into several residential districts and microdistricts, but tourists do not need to know about the official division. From a tourist point of view, the city can only be divided into two zones: the tourist district or the old town, and the new district.

Tourist area or Old Town
This area is, without a doubt, our "favorite" in order to settle in Bakhchisarai for a holiday. This is the historical heart of the city, because it was here that the capital of the Crimean Khanate was historically located, and today the spirit and architecture of that time have been preserved here. The Khan's palace, an ancient mosque, medieval mausoleums and narrow colorful streets adorn this area, and all this will be accessible to you on foot if you stop here. There are also original restaurants with traditional cuisine, and on the streets they offer, albeit modest, but still tourist services in the form of jeep trips to attractions, tours with horseback riding or quad bikes.
There is only one major street in the Old Town – Lenin Street, along which the city bus No. 2 runs, on which, if necessary, you can get to the cave town of Chufut-Kale, the Assumption Cave Monastery, the historical and archaeological complex Salachik. Also, this route goes to the railway station and bus station, from where you can go to other cities of the Crimea or take suburban buses to visit the sights of the Bakhchisarai district.
But there are also disadvantages in this area. The roads here are very narrow and winding, there are almost no sidewalks, and parking space for personal vehicles is also in great short supply. There are no large shops and supermarkets here, and food and essential goods will have to be bought in small shops at inflated prices.
A walk through the tourist area of Bakhchisarai -
New area
We include all other residential areas and microdistricts in the new district, in addition to the Old City. There is a completely different life going on here, modern and non-tourist, and therefore we would not settle here, and we do not advise anyone. And it's not that it's bad there, but simply because there will be nothing for tourists to do there, even nowhere to go for a walk. But on the other hand, it is in the new areas that shopping centers and supermarkets, pharmacies, polyclinics and authorities are located. And if you need any of this, you can take a taxi from the Old City to the new one for about 200 rubles or the mentioned city bus No. 2 for just 25 rubles.
