What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
Chinarsky and Universitetskiy waterfalls not near Mezmay and in the village of Temnoleskaya, but easily visited from Mezmay in the form of an independent walk or with an excursion on ATVs or SUVs. But whatever passable transport you choose, you still have to walk one and a half kilometers.
The beginning of the pedestrian part begins from the memorial sign to the fallen partisans. About 30 meters to the left of it you need to find a steep descent, equipped with a rope. This is the most difficult part of the way, and after a relatively gentle path after only 200 meters you will reach the Chinar waterfall. It is interesting because the water flows down from the rock, which will hang over you. In this place, tourists like to have picnics, and you can swim in a small natural pool. From here to the University waterfall you need to go another 1.2 kilometers. The path goes from Chinarsky along the rock and goes around it. Further in one place it will be necessary to cross the river on a log or Ford on stones. And now, having overcome the last rocky ascent, you will discover a high and beautiful university waterfall. At its foot is a spacious swimming pool of shallow depth and with very refreshing water.
