Roman Tower and Museum in Arkhipo-Osipovka is an archaeological site and an open-air museum on the site of a former ancient Roman settlement. Here you can see the ruins of an ancient Roman tower that existed more than 2000 years ago, but now there is little left of it, only a pile of stones.
However, this place is worth visiting not so much because of the tower itself, but for the sake of a small private museum, which was created by a local enthusiast and historian. He lives here and is engaged in researching the history of these places, and for all guests he is happy to conduct an excursion into history, which includes an inspection and a lively story about the exhibits of his small private collection.
This mini-excursion and its presentation is very interesting and will appeal even to children: you can ask questions and engage in dialogue with the historian, touch the exhibits. Perhaps the opinion of the owner of the museum about some historical events will seem controversial to someone, but it's definitely worth visiting here. Moreover, it is free, and the narrator accepts payment only in the form of donations and at your request, not at all insisting that you leave them.

🚶 How to get there
the tower is located four kilometers from the center (tower on the map). You can get here on foot along the coast by the road over the suspension bridge over the Vulan River (bypassing), or by a shorter way along the beach, and cross the Vulan River by boat for 20 rubles. You can also easily get there by car, there is a dirt road leading to the museum and the tower itself.
