Mikhailovsky fortification in Arkhipo-Osipovka - this is a free open-air museum, a historical monument of the Caucasian war of the XIX century. It is a wooden fortress on the site of earthen ramparts of former fortifications, made in the form of a palisade around the perimeter, a pair of observation towers and cannons. There is not much to do and see here, but if it is very interesting, you can walk around the fortress completely freely during a walk along Arkhipo-Osipovka.
In some descriptions of the Mikhailovsky fortification, you can find that it is part of the complex of the historical and Ethnographic Museum and excursions are held here, but in practice the fortress can be visited free of charge and separately from the main museum.

Mikhailovskoe fortification is located in the center of the resort 10 minutes walk from the beach (fortifications on the map. The main entrance to the territory of the fortress is from the side of the hospital lane, but you can also enter from other sides through several passages.
