Fort Dag-Bars is the ruins of a small fortress in the vicinity of the village of Khapil in the Tabasaran district of Dagestan, an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. The attraction is not particularly spectacular and is in a deplorable state, besides, little is known about its history, and therefore we will not recommend necessarily including the fort in your travel itinerary. However, if you are traveling by car and will be driving along the road from Khustil cave (Durk cave) to Fortresses of seven brothers and one sister in Khuchni or vice versa, you can make a short stop along the way.
It is believed that the Dag-Bars fort was once one of the defensive structures, possibly an observation post, of the extended protective wall of Dag-Bars, which means "Mountain Wall". This wall was built by the Persians in the V-VI centuries to protect the eastern part of the northern border of the Sassanid Empire. It passed through the Caucasus mountains from the site of modern Derbent for 45 kilometers, and the miraculously preserved fort was only one small part of it.

🚶 How to get there
You can only get there by your own transport, excursions and public transport do not go here (fort on the map). You will have to go along a dirt road from the village of Hapil for 3 kilometers, and if you go through the villages of Gejukh and Dyubek from the Khustil cave, then you will have to drive more than 20 kilometers along the primer from the nearest asphalt. The primer as a whole is going well, in good weather you can easily get there by any car.
