The arched bridge over the Ulluchai River in the village of Majalis is one of the little–known sights of Dagestan, but at the same time one of the oldest bridges in the region. It was built back in 1809, during the construction the craftsmen used only natural resources, the main of which was stone. The length is about 25 meters.
It is still in operation, continuing to connect the two banks of the Ulluchay River. The bridge, inconspicuous from the main road, will be of interest to travelers passing by car on the way from Makhachkala, Derbent, Izberbash and other places of Dagestan towards the ancient fortress of Kala-Koreish and the village of artisans Kubachi. It's not worth going here on purpose just for the sake of the bridge.
It is best to see all the details of the arched bridge from the river, going down to it by concrete steps. They can be reached on foot from a nearby gas station, sticking to the left along a dirt road. But you can also walk along the bridge itself, for which you need to drive 150 meters from the gas station along the main road towards the village and turn left.

🚶 How to get there
The arch bridge of 1809 is located in the village of Majalis (bridge on the map). It is 130 kilometers from Makhachkala and 40 from Derbent. There is a good asphalt road leading to Majalis, which will then lead you to the abandoned fortress of Kala-Koreish and to the village of Kubachi masters, so it is better to combine their visits.
