Description and is it worth visiting
Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery is a large free museum dedicated to the activities of the central bank and the local currency, essentially a money museum. The exhibition here is large and spans several floors — from the history of money to a collection of banknotes from around the world. Additionally, on one of the floors, there is an art gallery with works by Malaysian and Southeast Asian artists. It feels more like a pleasant addition, since the museum's main theme is still finance. Nevertheless, the exhibition is extensive, and you won't even notice how an hour or two flies by.
We found the museum interesting. It's not a must-see attraction, but if you've already seen the main sights and want some variety, it's definitely worth a visit. Moreover, unlike many paid museums, you don't need to worry about whether the money spent is justified — entry is completely free, which is a huge plus. In our opinion, it's one of those places that pleasantly surprises you when you have a free day.
Upon entering the museum, there's a serious security check: bags and backpacks are screened. Large items will have to be checked into the luggage storage. You're only allowed to bring phones and cameras with you into the exhibition halls. Keep this in mind to avoid wasting extra time.

🚶 How to get there
The Bank Negara Malaysia Museum is located in the central part of Kuala Lumpur, but off the main tourist trail (museum on the map). From Chinatown, it's about 2 kilometers — you can walk. From other areas, it's more convenient to use transport. The nearest LRT metro station is Bandaraya. Bank Negara KTM Komuter commuter train station is also nearby.
